How does the Foundation make an impact?

Philanthropy strengthens essential services—such as maternity care, nursing education, community health outreach, and hospice care—that rely on donor support to thrive.

What is Humanity Behind the Healing?

Humanity Behind the Healing is a comprehensive fundraising campaign supporting four priorities:

  • Mother Baby Transformation at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s
  • Mount Carmel College of Nursing Scholarships
  • Community Health & Well Being Programs
  • Hospice Care Services

Why is this campaign needed?

Essential programs face rising costs and chronic underpayment from government reimbursement. Donor generosity ensures these services remain strong, accessible, and centered on compassion.

What is the Mother Baby Transformation at St. Ann’s?

St. Ann’s—one of the nation’s leading maternity hospitals—is modernizing its spaces and technology to deliver the safest, most supportive birth experience for families.

How does the Foundation support nursing education?

Scholarships funded through philanthropy help address Ohio’s nursing shortage by supporting students who are called to serve.

What are Community Health & Well Being programs?

These programs provide care and support for vulnerable neighbors, including home visits for new moms, trauma counseling, and urgent care for individuals experiencing homelessness.

How does philanthropy support hospice care?

Donor gifts ensure patients and families receive comfort, dignity, and connection during life’s most delicate moments.

How do I know my contribution will be used for the program or service I designate?

The Foundation works diligently to honor donor intent. A biannual allocations process—led by a committee of Foundation trustees, executive leadership, clinicians, and community members—ensures every gift is used exactly as intended.

What are my rights as a Mount Carmel Foundation donor?

We are committed to responsible stewardship of every contribution. Our Donor Bill of Rights outlines the policies, protections, and promises that guide how your gift is handled and how we communicate with you.

How can I make a gift?

You can give online, by mail, or through planned giving. Donors may designate their gift to any campaign priority or program.

Are donations tax deductible?

The Mount Carmel Foundation does not provide professional tax, legal or accounting advice. We recommend that you consult with a qualified tax advisor to understand how current laws apply to your individual tax return and itemization status.

Can I direct my gift to a specific program?

Absolutely. You can choose the area of care that aligns with your values and philanthropic goals.

How are donor funds used?

Every gift directly supports Mount Carmel’s mission-driven programs, capital projects and patient services.

I’d like to host a fundraising event to benefit Mount Carmel. How should I proceed?

We’re grateful for your interest in supporting Mount Carmel. Before using the Mount Carmel name or logo in any event materials, please contact the Foundation at 614-546-4500 or givetomc@mchs.com to review guidelines and obtain approval.

Can I host a raffle to benefit the Foundation?

Because the Foundation uses raffles at its annual special events, Ohio law limits the number of raffles we can hold each year. As a result, additional raffles hosted by outside groups are prohibited. If you’d like to explore other ways to raise funds, please reach out — we’re happy to help.

Where can I learn more?

Detailed information about each campaign priority is available throughout the Foundation website.
